How we teach & play

Every program we offer is thoughtfully designed with one goal in mind: to help each child thrive. From the way we teach to the way we play, everything in our day is intentional, joyful, and rooted in the belief that children learn best when they feel safe, inspired, and free to explore. We use the Creative Curriculum as the foundation of our teaching. It is a research-based, child-centered approach that mirrors everything we believe about how young children learn best. Rooted in the understanding that play is the most powerful context for development, the Creative Curriculum guides our teachers to act as thoughtful observers and facilitators, designing rich environments and in-depth investigations that follow children's natural curiosity and interests. Rather than one-size-fits-all instruction, it embraces developmentally appropriate practice, meeting each child exactly where they are, and supporting growth across all domains: social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Through project-based exploration, positive relationships, and intentional environment design, our children develop not just early literacy and numeracy skills, but the executive function, confidence, and love of discovery that prepare them for school and for life. Creative Curriculum

At Luv 2 Learn Preskul, our garden is one of our favorite classrooms. There is something truly special about watching a child press a seed into the soil, water it each day, and witness it grow. It is wonder and learning happening at the same time. Our garden program gives children the opportunity to explore science, develop curiosity, and connect with the natural world through hands-on discovery that no worksheet could replicate. Children learn patience and responsibility as they tend to living things, practice teamwork as they work side by side with their peers, and build early math and literacy skills through counting, observing, and recording what they find. Gardening also nurtures healthy habits, as children who grow their own food develop a genuine appreciation for fresh, nourishing choices. Rooted in our belief that children learn best by exploring and doing, our garden is a place where every child can dig in, ask big questions, and grow in every sense of the word.

At Luv 2 Learn Preskul, we believe that growing up with two languages is one of the most powerful gifts a child can receive. Research shows that children exposed to more than one language develop increased mental flexibility, better focus, and a stronger ability to problem solve; all skills that align beautifully with our commitment to nurturing the whole child. Thanks to decades of research on the cognitive, social, and emotional benefits of bilingualism, we now understand that supporting a child's home language alongside a second language builds not just communication skills, but a deeper sense of identity, belonging, and connection to family and community. Our English and Spanish bilingual program is woven into every part of the school day through play, stories, songs, and meaningful interaction so that children develop both languages naturally, joyfully, and with confidence.

Yoga

At Luv 2 Learn Preskool, yoga is a natural and joyful part of our children's day. Yoga helps children build gross and fine motor skills, practice focusing on their breathing and feeling calm, and develop the social and emotional awareness that comes from thinking about what we do and why we do it. Through intentional yoga and mindfulness practice, children develop the executive functioning skills, body awareness, self-control, and emotional regulation that are the foundation for resilient, lifelong learning. At Luv 2 Learn Preskool, we believe that a child who feels calm and connected to their body is a child who is truly ready to learn.

At Luv 2 Learn Preskool, STEM is not a subject; it is a way of thinking, exploring, and experiencing the world. From the moment a child stacks blocks and wonders why they fall, measures how tall their tower can grow, or watches a seed sprout in the garden, they are doing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the most authentic and meaningful way possible. Our STEM program is woven into everyday play and discovery, inviting children to observe, question, experiment, and problem-solve with their hands and their minds. We encourage children to try, to fail, and to try again. Because at Luv 2 Learn PresKool, we know that curiosity and persistence are just as important as finding the right answer. By integrating STEM naturally into play-based learning and hands-on exploration, we help children build the critical thinking and creative confidence that will serve them not just in school, but throughout their entire lives.

STEM

At Luv 2 Learn Preskool, we believe that the outdoors is one of the richest classrooms a child can have. Time spent outside supports better physical and mental health, improved sleep, and meaningful cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Children are natural explorers and discoverers the moment they step outside. The benefits of outdoor play go far beyond physical activity; it allows children to challenge themselves, take healthy risks, and develop the cognitive, social, emotional, and self-regulatory skills that are foundational to learning. At Luv 2 Learn Preskool, our outdoor play program is intentional and joyful. It is a space where children run, build, observe, imagine, and connect with the world around them in ways that no four walls can fully contain. Fresh air, open space, and the freedom to move are not extras in our day, they are essential to it.
